The Brand: We were inspired to launch Mutombo Coffee with beans expressly sourced from Dikembe Mutombo's beloved DRC for two reasons: To introduce consumers to our delicious coffee while supporting poor farming communities where a majority of the workers are women who serve as the glue in their families and communities; and to help our local partners bring you coffee sourced from farms and cooperatives using sustainable and fair-trade practices.

We never understood why to-go tumblers made design decisions that compromised the coffee drinking experience. The senses–taste, smell, and touch—were ignored, while durability and heat retention were prioritized. Why not both?

Ode Brew Grinder is Fellow's most premium and advanced coffee product to date. Our goal with all packaging is to create an experience that is an extension of the product itself. This means we needed the packaging to emulate the grinder's unique design, full set of features, and create an unboxing experience as delightful as using the grinder for your morning coffee.

The logo is very dynamic, and the antelope is used as a key element of the product identity on each package. That way, it enhances the craft character of the brand and creates a solid image on the shelf.

Our primary objective with this cafe design was to create a space that paid homage to our rural identity as a company, while also staying connected to the modern and expansive views of the Madison downtown.

Over the past year we undertook the incredible task of redesigning our entire retail line. We needed packaging that not only matched the innovation and quality of the product found inside but also tied together our family of products from tea sachets and loose leaf to matcha. For this challenging task we engaged with the artists at Studio MPLS.

Sparkling Botanicals by Rishi is our first entry into the incredibly competitive RTD market. We had some very real challenges when first approaching this design project. As with anything innovative, we needed to define what the product is and how it differentiates from the sea of competition on the shelf.
