Brand identity and packaging refresh for Vessel Craft Coffee, a specialty coffee brand and roastery based in Norfolk, VA.
With a vision of expanding Vessel’s product reach, we wanted to create a brand identity that was bold and refreshing, and would cut through the noise on retail shelves. Basically, to give our customers what they really want - delicious coffee with a beautiful and innovative design.

The illustration on the bag design provides a punch of contrast, while paying homage to the many small farmers who harvest our world’s coffee. Graphics frame the front of the bag with a colorful sticker customized for each blend or single-origin, while the core branding fills out the gussets on each side of the bag.
We went bold by taking our name off of the front of the bag and placing it dominantly on the sides to put the primary emphasis on the coffee itself. Our intent was to visually demonstrate how community is created by customers, baristas, roasters, distributers, and farmers who share a passion for coffee.
