We have created an open and welcoming space that invites reflection, conversation and interaction. The design was guided by our four principles: People, Product, Process, and Planet, as well as a sustainable base.
One of the key objectives of the design is to achieve a clear separation between Front and Back of house spaces, to allow us provide a better customers experience. The thoughtful, simple design, integrated with original artwork and highly functional brewing spaces, was created to receive guests to a welcoming environment. Suspended from the high open ceiling is an over-sized lighting ring situated in the centre of the space, representing a large ripple of water.

Low stone counters outfitted with state-of-the-art under-counter machines make it fun and educational to watch our baristas in action as they share their knowledge and passion for coffee. The equipment also has custom finishes, which harmonize with the interiors. Furthermore, the ergonomic design of the front and rear counters allow 3-4 servers to work efficiently without interfering with each other.
Ample storage space is provided above the washroom. The walnut library-type cat ladder appears to be as part of the internal décor.
Careful selection of materials includes natural Canadian walnut characterized by its notable color and heavy grain, and is the feature finish for the front counter and the window seating. Neutral, complimentary materials and colors in the space create a backdrop for the “Mother Nature” art piece.
“Mother Nature” represents multiple stories related to coffee. Note the artist’s references to the mountains, forests and fields where coffee is grown, the climate change with emphasis on the importance of direct trade, and to the history and cultures so essential to its production.
