What did you want to achieve with the design? We wanted to create a sense of discovery and reverence — as if the customer is opening a rare book filled with secrets from the coffee world. The box was designed to feel like a precious object: elegant, minimal, and tactile. Our goal was to highlight the rarity of the coffees inside and elevate the unboxing experience into a ritual of appreciation and curiosity. We aimed to reflect the exceptional character of the coffees — often Cup of Excellence winners — through refined details, clean typography, and a structured, “library-inspired” format. Were there any specific references that informed the design? Yes, we were inspired by collectible book editions — the kind one treasures and places on a personal shelf. We also took cues from vintage apothecary boxes and archival specimen cases to emphasize the curated and rare nature of the content. The idea was to blend elegance with a sense of timelessness and knowledge — fitting for a collection of coffees that represent the best of their origin and harvest year.
