Puku Puku is quechua for "bird that signs at sunrise". Seven years ago, we set off to find the best single-origin small batch coffees in Peru. Working hand-to-hand with small farmers and communities throughout our diverse coffee regions, we have become one of the leading specialty coffee brands in Peru.

From Jaen down to Puno, our efforts to find the perfect single-origin coffee beans stretch through all coffee-growing regions of Peru.

For this new location we wanted to bring in cultural elements from these different regions, while creating a world class coffee shop. From the Yunsa Celebration tree (a thanksgiving tradition from Puno) to the tree planting tradition from Cajamarca pictured in Jade Rivera's "The Boy and the Red Robin" (a recovered mural that dominates the coffee shops` staircase), this Puku Puku shop has details in every corner that remind us that Peru is rich and diverse in coffee and tradition.

The team converted an old one-floor banking agency into a two floor urban oasis with two of our staple upcycled multicolored iron pipe coffee bars, two outdoor terraces, a small indoor greenhouse, and a laid back entertainment space that allows for our professional barista and coffee-enthusiast workshops, indie music concerts, art and crafts workshops for kids and families, weekend movies, or simply general relaxed seating.

We wanted to provide a urban hideout and, while doing so, contribute to building a sense of awareness and community around Peruvian coffee.
