The packaging for our special anniversary coffee brings new functionality to the form factor of our existing boxes. The label is a playable board game that uses beans as game pieces. Game rules and event cards are accessible on our website without having to install an app. The result is a unique analog/digital interactive experience. We were inspired by producers experimenting and playing with their craft, so the overall theme is to have fun.

The beans are processed using grape-infused anaerobic fermentation, grown by San Adolfo farmers, and produced by Brayan Alvear and Forest Coffee at Ancla Milling Station in Huila, Colombia. The flavor-profile is like grape candy which further inspired us to reference games from our childhood like CandyLand. In our game, players choose from 4 characters: Barista, Roaster, Enthusiast, and Influencer. Players move across the board using beans as dice and the web-app to draw events ranging from mundane to extraordinary like mis-slurping while cupping or winning an IG giveaway. By highlighting relatable experiences, we hope to create solidarity within the community. And if the customer does not save the packaging, we hope it can still forge unforgettable memories. Across the industry, costs are increasing. We are forced to raise prices to survive as a business. We don't like punishing customers for this, so we wanted to add value to our product to express gratitude for their years of support. We also wanted to make sure our packaging was recyclable with separable materials. The coffee is sealed in a valveless, non-laminated 4mil LDHP zip bag in a paper box. Our 8-ounce portion was also deliberate since this quantity does not off-gas enough to cause the bag to burst and the customer can easily finish the bag within the optimal time frame.
