Brewzeus by Mihai Panfil
Brewzeus stands for the promise of the divine aromas springing from a carefully curated range of specialty coffee, as an alternative deity for a new generation of coffee aficionados. In line with the brand name, the packaging design is rebelling against the mainstream norm with an apparent clean look, “vandalized” by the new breed of specialty coffee.
Packed in a matte brown paper bag, the design seems to be celebrating a classic form of divinity in large matte gold letters, only the deity’s name is defaced by Brewzeus. The brand manifesto on the back is a testament of Brewzeus’ intention to hijack divinity in the name of exquisite coffee. The brand’s distribution is done exclusively through one of the largest online grocery retailers in Romania.
Therefore, the square form/shape of the bag, which is fairly atypical for the category, was purposely chosen so to better fit the grid of a digital shelve. The design’s appeal lays precisely in the daring and provocative nature of the branding itself. For a public that looks for details beyond appearances, appreciating the experience that comes along with an exquisite taste and aroma, Brewzeus is elevating specialty coffee enjoyment to the level of a spiritual need.
