What did you want to achieve with the design?

Our goal was to create packaging that is sustainable, modern and informative. Coffee is such an important ritual in our day and we don’t often have other times in life where we get to pause and enjoy something so delicious. We wanted to create packaging that the consumer would want to pick up and admire everyday, reading about the farmer who grew the coffee and what makes them special.

Were there any specific references that informed the design?

Although our packaging has nothing to do with electronics, I’m really inspired by Dieter Rams. His product designs from when he was at Braun in the 60s are so timeless and functional that even today people still use them and seek them out. His 10 principles of design are also something I always revisit when I’m questioning my approach.
