To us, the coffee bag serves as an important focal point for how we hope to be remembered as a business within the community. It transports our freshly roasted specialty coffee to its destination, and it has the potential to tell a story.
At the core of any progression towards community improvement are people. The purpose of our business has always been centered on precipitating positivity within our communities, no matter if it’s with our customers, our staff, our neighborhood, or the greater coffee community. Without people, it’s just coffee. Our packaging needed to reflect the various intersections we find ourselves among others, reflecting the broad spectrum of people we serve: from a farm to our cup. Each step of the process involves intention and interaction among people from all walks of life.
We see our place in the value chain as a sort of “middle group”, focused on bridging the gap between the farmers and producers to the customers who love the coffee we roast and serve.
Our design is intended to persist and be adaptable within a rapidly changing world.
The coffee bag illustrations are reflective of the coffee value chain and the interconnectedness through the process. Precipitation represents our core values (Interdependence, Curiosity, Resist Complacency, Excellence Through Service, and Stewardship) and how they flow like water through our communities.
It supports life. The jewel-toned colors represent the beautiful diversity of the people we serve, and the humanity we hope to capture in each step of our process. It represents joy and love.
We intentionally designed a bag front that can accept various labels that expose or hide content, making them a single, flexible bag option to serve three options: flagships, seasonal rotators, and specially featured coffees.
We chose recyclable materials and provided instructions to make them easily recyclable in typical single stream recycling programs at home.
