The artwork on the back of the bag was intentionally created to prompt the consumer to think about the real human relationships behind the complex processes that produced the coffee they are about to drink. Rather than simply explaining this with words, the illustration is meant to linger in the mind and remind the viewer that this coffee comes from a real farmer who cares for a real farm, supports a real family, and depends on a real wage. We are represented as the falcon bringing their hard work from overseas and dropping it into our roaster for their intended end-game: a product to be enjoyed. When those realities are remembered, we are more likely to make choices that help keep the coffee industry healthy and sustainable.
