Our goal for the design and packaging at OKUS was to communicate an elevated, unique, and thoughtful coffee experience. We chose to take a minimalist approach to the design while using visual inspiration from the deep green scenery found throughout Vermont. Offering some of the world's top coffees in the most sustainable way possible was part of our mindset from the start, so we came up with a 100% curbside recyclable solution for our Unique & Rare collection tins. The slip-on, soft-touch paper labels were thoughtfully designed to be easily removed from the aluminum tin for recycling or reuse. As for our bagged coffees, we kept the signature OKUS green and chose a 100% compostable material. The 10-dot sensory indicators on our tin labels make it easy to understand the levels of intensity, body, and brightness contained in the light roasted beans. The precious flavors and aromas are kept safe inside by a hermetic seal, waiting to be unleashed to the delight of the human on the other end.
