KAFFA
At KAFFA we believe that coffee should be inclusive, approachable and enjoyable, an everyday luxury. Over the past years we have teamed up with local young artists to make designs for our limited edition range of coffees with the focus on our hometown, Oslo. In 2021 we wanted to go even further, bringing another piece of the roastery to the end consumer.
Designer Kristine Moen is well known for her illustrations made through sound recordings. The designs are based on the recorded sounds of a batch of natural Ethiopian coffee during the final development phase. The audio recording was then visualized as a spectrogram. This raw data was then reinterpreted by Kristine Moen to give it an emotional context with her use of color and texture. The two designs are used for most of our single origin coffees. Our coffees are roasted in the nordic style to maintain the unique qualities in the bean. The content of the bag being echoed in our packaging.
