With this design, our primary ambition was to romanticize the Brazilian coffee landscape, moving away from the muted, industrial aesthetic of the past to embrace the vivid energy of the land. We wanted to achieve a sensory journey for the consumer, where the packaging serves as a physical gateway to the tropics. The intent was to capture the duality of coffee: the quiet, disciplined craft of the farmer and the wild, untamed beauty of the environment where the bean is born. By utilizing a minimalist front that gives way to an explosion of color on the sides, we created an experience that rewards the curious consumer, mirroring the way a coffee’s aromatic profile unfolds once it is brewed. We aimed to prove that Brazilian coffee is not just a commodity, but a vibrant piece of cultural heritage that deserves a place of honor in the modern home.
Our design is an invitation to journey through the vibrant Brazilian savannah and lush rainforests. Through hand-painted illustrations, we’ve brought the flora and the toucan to life, treating them as living characters in our story rather than mere decoration. This visual narrative is woven into every detail, including the evocative names of our coffees, such as “Pico Alto”, paying a tribute to the iconic rock overseeing Fazenda Pedra Redonda. By blending these romantic, natural references with a clean, modern layout, we’ve created a balance that celebrates the vibrant soul of Brazil while offering the transparency the specialty coffee community values.
At Flor do Brasil, sustainability is an act of transparency and respect for the human element of coffee. Our message is built on the philosophy that the most sustainable practice is the absolute preservation of the harvest and the celebration of the people who grew it.
To bring this mission to life, we have integrated QR codes on the back of every bag that acts as a digital bridge to Brazil. Upon scanning, customers are transported directly to our farm-specific pages, where we showcase the hard work, the unique highlights, and the faces of the owners behind each estate.
By giving these farmers a global platform, we foster a direct connection that ensures their legacy is recognized and their community is supported. This Digital Traceability combined with our lightweight, resealable design, proves that our packaging is not just a container, but a vehicle for social and environmental advocacy.
