Flight Coffee Company’s 2023 Bag design focuses on the word, “Flight”, used in the context of space travel. While the sky may be the limit for some, Flight Coffee Company is always looking beyond. As it was in the heyday of the Space Race we see limits as merely signposts to be passed as we climb ever higher. Our bag design is intended to invoke the images and colors of the NASA program during the 1960’s, 1970’s, and 1980’s and inspires us to always reach for the stars. Our single origin labels are more informative than before, conveying not only typical label information (origin, processing, altitude, etc.), but also offering a visual guide to flavors that help coffee lovers develop their palates. In contrast, our blend labels may depict a humorous take on events such as our Area 603 label which implicates a classic flying saucer in the destruction of the Old Man of the Mountain monument. Other blend labels capture the character of the coffee such as Ground Control, our decaf and Sub-Orbital, our half-caf. As we went into the bag design process, we wanted to change more than just the look of the bag. We had the opportunity to make changes that would support our company sustainability goals in a measurable way. Properly sized bags, labels that are big enough to convey the desired information but no larger, and a recycling program the rewards customers all contribute to this goal. Our new bag design brings our together our goals of reinforcing our brand identity and improving our commitment to the environment while also passing the savings from our reduced packaging costs on to our customers.
