The concept is inspired by the Super Bloom—a rare botanical phenomenon that occurs when dormant wildflower seeds germinate in unison, bringing the desert landscape to life in a riot of vibrant color. Our Super Bloom Blend is a reminder that when we bloom together, we can transform entire landscapes. Our approach with this design stands out as it’s not just an aesthetically beautiful piece—every touchpoint was a chance to make choices in alignment with our values.

The design of this limited-edition bag celebrates the origin of the hero coffee within, Nicaragua, our home state, California, and our commitment to diversity and inclusivity. We collaborated with queer illustrator & muralist Rymie (Lauren Rymer, she/her, @rymie) to bring the concept for our spring seasonal coffee, Super Bloom, to life. For this blend, we combined the unique qualities of sustainable coffees from Nicaragua, Thailand, and Java, to create a celebratory and diverse profile with flavors of Confetti Cake, Cherry Blossom, and Starfruit. 5% of sales from our Super Bloom collection will be donated back to our producer partner in Nicaragua, Cooperativa de Servicios Múltiples Sacaclí, towards equipment for a coffee quality control lab. The front of pack features a tiger peering over a steaming pourover cone. The tiger is our brand logomark; a symbol of grace, strength, and rarity. She’s surrounded by a mix of flora native to California and Nicaragua, as an homage to the coffee origin and where the coffee was roasted, at our roastery here in Marin County, CA. On one side, a queer interracial couple toasts their steaming tumblers of coffee, and on the other a chemex with flowers stands tall under the sun, with the phrasing Proud Since 1995—a play on our typical Roasting Since 1995 to celebrate our commitment to LGBTQ+ representation. On the back of the bag, a woman hikes in hills surrounded by Pride Poppies—another nod to LGBTQ+ pride inspired by our founders—while a parrot flies overhead as a nod to Nicaragua. All of these elements together amount to a visually stunning design that celebrates this new seasonal blend.
