We wanted to differentiate our two ranges of coffee: our Core Range and our Producer Series. The Core Range is designed to appeal to a broader range of coffee drinkers, with woodland illustrations, simple flavour notes and a wide range of roast styles, making it easy for a less confident coffee consumer to engage with specialty coffee. The vibrant yellow bags re-enforce Dark Woods branding, and sustainability is maintained through compostable materials and a re-usable bag clip. The “Producer Series” needed to carry the detailed information desired by the more experienced coffee consumer; from variety and process, through to background information on the skilled producers involved. Such information can scare off the less experienced coffee drinker, and so we also wanted to bring in simple categorisation and attractive artwork, to temp them into this more specialised coffee world.
