Located on Madison’s vibrant Willy Street, the cafe’s interior reflects the neighborhood’s creative energy and strong sense of community. The design embraces the eclectic, colorful spirit of the area and creates a welcoming third space for community gathering.

As with all 22 Colectivo cafes, the project was a collaborative effort between the in-house interior design team, architects and company leadership. The space highlights Colectivo’s commitment to supporting local artists, featuring a custom painting by a Madison-based artist and handcrafted Misewell ceramics at the stir station.

The cafe design was led by Colectivo’s in-house cafe aesthetic team, husband-and-wife wife duo Joe & Janice Niedzialkowski. Joe & Janice have been the creative force behind the design environments of our cafes since our founding in 1993, with their work spanning a wide range of disciplines including metalwork, woodworking, furniture design, lighting, landscaping and sculpture.

Together, these elements create a space that feels distinctly rooted in Madison’s Willy Street while reflecting Colectivo’s long-standing commitment to craft, collaboration and community.

Like everything at Colectivo, Willy Street cafe was a collaborative effort involving Colectivo’s interior design team, architects and guidance from company leadership. The Willy Street cafe also reflects Colectivo’s ongoing commitment to local art, partnering with a Madison-based artist to contribute a custom painting and Misewell ceramics for custom stir station vessels.
