Our design includes elements such as blue and bison horns for the Howard Bison, tiger stripes for Morehouse College's Maroon Tiger, and a cowboy spur to represent the historical origins of the African American cowboy. We wanted to create a design that pops and teaches Black History during Black History Month. “1867” is an ode to the rich & illustrious legacies of two of the world’s leading educational institutions, Howard University & Morehouse College—both established in the year 1867.
