At Blueprint Coffee, we’re guided by our values of transparency and intentionality. In our redesigned packaging, we challenged ourselves to incorporate more information about our coffees, while also developing a cleaner, more inviting aesthetic that’s still true to our brand. Drenched in our signature shade of vibrant blue and anchored by clean, simple graphics, our new bags stand out on the shelf with bold elegance.

Each bag includes a removable, collectible, and interactive card. The coffee's name and origin is displayed when the card is tucked in its pocket. Removing it reveals a trove of information: stats like elevation, varietals, and processing style, the background of the coffee’s producers, taste notes from our team, and step-by-step brew guides. The cards also feature spaces for your own notes — inviting customers to track variables like brew method, grind setting, coffee and water doses, and to record their own impressions.

The removable card is an invitation to interact with the packaging — it draws you in for a closer look, and rewards that curiosity by offering information and connection with your coffee. It's a delightfully tactile experience. At home, the interaction continues: spaces on the card to record your own brew notes provide gentle encouragement, and helpful structure, to engage with the coffee more deeply. Many customers like to save their cards, building up a collection of the coffees they've enjoyed through the seasons.

We also use color with intention: the color of each card has a meaning. This color language consistently communicates flavor profiles, deepening our relationship with our customers over time. Learn more about our color language: blueprintcoffee.com/colors

Materially, our new bags incorporate more recyclable materials than ever before — the removable cards are fully recyclable, and we even reuse cards from the bags that our cafes use behind the counter for brewing. With the redesign, we also began offering 2 lb bags on our retail shelves (along with the 10 oz bags) for the first time — this bulk bag is a more efficient option that minimizes packaging waste.

We're also proud of the thoughtful ways we incorporate information about each coffee into the packaging, from stats like elevation and varietals, to sourcing notes and stories of the producers that grow and process each lot. We see ourselves as part of a mutually beneficial relationship loop among our producers, staff, wholesale partners, vendors, and customers. Our cards were designed to connect our customers more fully with the farmers, producers, exporters, and importers that produced the coffee in their hands — to make that relationship loop more visible.
