At Belleville Brûlerie, long term relationships are at the center of what we do.

We've worked with designer and lettering artist Ged Palmer since the launch of Belleville Brûlerie in 2013 when we were lucky enough to have Ged design our logotype. Since then, we've worked closely with Ged and his studio, The Luminor Sign Co., to develop a visual identity for Belleville that was youthful and irreverent but rooted in the rich visual history of France. Over the past few years we've added a custom typeface family and a mascot to our brand system and as a result our packaging was badly in need of a refresh.

Our goal with the packaging redesign was to center the Belleville brand and create a flexible system to allow us to present Blend, Single Origin and Grand Cru Coffees using the same base package.

To achieve this we designed both a new full wrap print coffee bag as well as a label system. The die-cut labels are produced by a label atelier in the south of France specialising in traditional wine labels. The labels for our blends are spot-varnished and contain a flash code leading customers to our website where they can find additional information about the provenance of the coffees in the blend.

We treat our single origin coffees as limited editions and each is hand numbered by the production team on the back of the label. Roast dates are also hand stamped on the labels giving the packaging a further human touch.

Featuring our custom Belleville typeface and french "tri-color" colour scheme the packages stand out on the shelf and on the kitchen counter.
