This project explores how specialty coffee can be presented beyond conventional, disposable packaging.
The goal was to elevate coffee from a consumable product into a lasting object—something that reflects its true value. Instead of using traditional bags, the coffee is placed in a glass bottle inspired by vintage apothecary and rare spirit vessels, forms historically associated with preservation and rarity.
The design emphasizes transparency by making the coffee beans fully visible, allowing the product itself to become the central visual element. A wooden cork closure and wax seal introduce a tactile, ritual-like experience, while also referencing traditional methods of protecting valuable goods.
The project features a Geisha from Ngila Estate in Tanzania, produced by Vera Stüker. Known for its distinctive genetic profile, Geisha represents one of the most expressive and sought-after coffee varieties. This rarity supports the concept of permanence and reinforces the idea of coffee as something worth preserving.
Ultimately, the design shifts perception—from consumption to appreciation, and from disposable packaging to a form that remains.
