Our packaging design has been very much influenced by the novelty of the product inside. It holds a range of single origin, light roasted cacao beans, ground to the exact classification for brewing the very first filter cacao. A whole new drinking experience that calls for further exploration. Although all of us are familiar with slow brew routines & origin experiences; little are familiar with the mirror image similarities between specialty coffee and specialty cacao. This is especially reflected in a clean, pure filter brew. Clearly defined by the origin, fermentation, light roast and grind quality for an even extraction. That’s why we have chosen a minimalist design on a light-colored natural paper label. With the use of 1 monochrome color for all copy combined with a visually very appealing spray-painted sphere. Each origin is represented by a custom color-sprayed sphere, representing their specific flavor profile. It visualizes the sum of flavor describers linked to the ground cacao beans in the jar. In this way the user gets triggered at the very first touch point, in a way that adds a layer to describers in the wording. The design includes a specific tag for origin information & a second one for health benefits and a QR code to explore different filter cacao brew guides. All packaging decisions were made with a clear focus on product freshness, sustainability & recyclability. No comprises were made choosing a lightweight mono-material, circular packaging (100% recycled material with beautiful scars). Our label has been developed to be fully removable. Making the PET jar fully recyclable instead of being burnt. The jar works as a perfect tool for dosing slow brew recipes, eliminating plastic scoops are other accessories.
