Super Power Plum reimagines coffee packaging for the nostalgic at heart, using vibrant colors and eye-catching materials to transport customers back in time; making the packaging just as exciting as dusting off their favorite video game cartridge for another play.

The coffee comes packaged in a matte-finished box filled with playful 8-bit graphics in bright pink, purple, and green hues that nod to its plum tasting notes. An illustration wraps around the box, inviting viewers to follow the story of Pixel Philip, our barista warrior and company founder, as he jumps over barrels of plum juice and climbs coffee plants on his quest to defeat the PERCtopus.

Folks who press “start” on top, open the box to reveal a vibrant, clear holographic bag holding the coffee ready to begin their own brewing adventure.

At PERC, it’s always been a goal of ours to meet people where they are and connect them with great coffee that fuels their passions. One way we do that is by creating opportunities, like Super Power Plum, that branch beyond our core brand and invite people into an experience where design, narrative, and flavor work together to spark curiosity and draw them into a world beyond the cup.

Super Power Plum was inspired by watching our own team bond over their favorite video games. The shared nostalgia, colorful aesthetics, and playful storytelling of classic games felt like the perfect creative playground for a coffee like the Red Plum P-02 from Diego Bermudez and his team at El Paraíso.

With vibrant plum notes and a lively profile, the coffee itself felt as bright and fun as an old-school arcade screen. It was a pixel-perfect match for our mission to bring people together through this retro video game–inspired concept.

The Super Power Plum packaging was created with longevity and reusability in mind. The sturdy matte-finished box is designed to be kept rather than discarded, functioning more like collectible packaging and similar to a classic video game cartridge box that people often save and display.

By leaning into nostalgia and storytelling, the design encourages customers to keep and display the packaging as part of the experience, extending its life beyond the use of the coffee. This approach aligns with a broader sustainability value of reducing disposable packaging by creating something memorable, durable, and worth keeping.
