Nam Coffee
Founder’s Letter - We’re inviting you on a journey spanning from the neon streets of Los Angeles to the foggy mountaintops of Đà Lạt. We’re dedicated to making premium coffee products that showcase Vietnam’s agricultural wonders and are ecstatic to share them with you. Coffee has played an instrumental role in my life, coloring my earliest memories and teaching me the values of ingenuity, creativity, and cultural pride. Growing up in Pleiku, I was exposed to the joys of drinking quality coffee with my brother and sister. As a twelve-year old living in Saigon with my mother, I helped her run a coffee-cart in a bustling alleyway in District One. I’m happy to continue the tradition with a company that’s bringing together third-generation farmers in Đà Lạt and roasters in Los Angeles. I’ve seen first-hand that coffee can be a basis for a community. Whether it’s exchanging tips on brewing techniques or lining up for the crowded coffee-cart that’s the talk of the town, it’s more than a drink — it’s an invitation.

For far too long, Vietnamese coffee hasn’t been taken as seriously as its counterparts across the globe. Drawing from my experiences in fashion and the restaurant industry, I’ve built a company that’s highlighting how Vietnamese coffee can be both accessible and sophisticated; thoughtful and vibrant. As a third-generation coffee-maker, I understand the craft of making coffee that’s free of additives and flavorings and roasted just right. To ensure a bold taste and pungent aroma, we slowly roast our premium robusta beans.
This technique is to maximize your experience and guarantee that you can appreciate every nuanced tasting note. A creative at heart, I simply couldn’t resist the opportunity to make something that’s not only tasty, but aesthetically beautiful. The packaging features illustrations celebrating my travels between Vietnam and California. Take a sip, close your eyes, and imagine yourself on a vespa, racing down the labyrinthine streets of Saigon and then arriving at a Los Angeles sunset imbued with swirls of pink and magenta.
For our launch, we’re offering three products — Dalat (100% robusta, bold, dark roast), District One ( medium dark roast), and Orange County ( 30/70 blend of robusta and arabica). In addition, we’re offering phin filters for the authentic Vietnamese coffee drinking experience. While the phin filter is recommended for the Vietnamese coffee brewing method, feel free to brew and drink however you’d like — we’ve put flexibility and self-expression into the forefront. It’s time to get creative with your morning routine. Thank you and Cảm ơn!
