For Landed Coffee Roasters, the bag design was one of the most important aspects of our Roastery. The coffee bags are what travel around the country and even the world - to people’s businesses and homes. They are the roastery’s representative in cafés and gourmet supermarkets and the first impression people get of your business, what it stands for and what interesting things you might find inside it. More than anything, with our bag design we wanted to create something fun and interesting for the consumer, both for Specialty Coffee Lovers and for complete novices.

We wanted people to take real art home with them, and for the bag to be enjoyed and explored along with the coffee inside and not simply act as some mundane transportation vessel for the beans, to be tossed aside at the earliest opportunity, or even emptied into another container the second it has been opened. We want every aspect to be enjoyable - even just opening the coffee bag should be an experience, which is why we had the opening of our bags laser cut. For our retail clients, we wanted something that would stand out on the shelf, be easily handled and stocked, would increase their sales and keep the freshness for the longest period of time.
Our colours aim to be interesting to a modern, forward thinking, open minded audience that wants to try something new and different - people who are willing to broaden their horizons beyond what traditional coffee should look and feel like. To achieve all this, we spent four years of trial and error: Looking at hundreds of designs, artists and bag manufacturers. We were heavily influenced by the craft chocolate world with whom our team have worked extensively alongside in the past. Another heavy influence was the flora and fauna of our coffee estate. All of these are concluded in our current bag design, which we really hope you will enjoy as much as the coffee inside.
