Mono-material bags: It is packaging where all layers are made of the same material (PE). Such bags can be recycled more easily than products made of more than one material (PET, PE, Aluminium). It eliminates the necessity to separate materials, increasing the chance that the packaging will be truly recycled.
Changed shape and left out the zip locks: We chose the "Quad-Seal" shape for our bags and self-defined their size. The new packs take up less space and stack tightly next to each other in the shipping cartons, allowing more bags to be transported at once and reducing CO₂ emissions. In addition, the "Quad-Seal" shape allows the packaging to be heat-sealed from a single roll of material, minimizing waste at the production stage.
We work locally and innovatively: Together with the Gabag company, which is located within 30 km of our roastery, we aim to increase the use of single-material packaging. We aim to improve the sustainability of the brands we know and work with and to reduce the carbon footprint that some packaging leaves behind.
