With Donut Kitty’s coffee packaging, we set out to create something that breaks the mold of traditional specialty coffee branding. Instead of the usual minimalist, earthy designs or overly serious artisanal aesthetic, we wanted packaging that felt playful, rebellious, and full of personality—just like the brand itself. Our goal was to make each bag feel like a collectible, something that sparks joy and curiosity while still signaling high-quality, craft-roasted coffee. For inspiration, we pulled from the bold, expressive world of vintage Japanese snack packaging, retro cartoons, and the vibrant energy of streetwear branding. These influences helped shape the bright colors, dynamic illustrations, and tongue-in-cheek humor woven into each design. The result is a coffee package that doesn’t just sit quietly on a shelf—it demands attention, starts conversations, and, most importantly, makes people excited to brew what’s inside.
