Through my research, I learned about the threats that our coffees face today – fluctuating prices and changing the quality of coffees across the globe due to warmer temperatures to name a few. With the tendency of people being more compassionate towards animals than plants, a lot of coffee lovers are unaware of these threats.

Understanding the strength of climate awareness, especially in countries like India led me to think of the Coffee pack as a vessel for conversation. To create this correlation between flora and fauna, each coffee was paired with an animal, and the vulnerabilities of both species are shown with the aid of a bar graph. The stronger the coffee, the more critical the conservation status of the animal is. The back of the pack talks about the species of coffee used in each of the blends, its vulnerability, and the future of coffee. A link to the IUCN red list is also listed for those interested in knowing more about either of the species. Keeping the original colors of the company packs, I designed unique patterns for each. The pattern aesthetic of the animals reflects their decreasing numbers as it subtracts from its background.
