The packaging has a low-density polyethylene (LDPE) layer and a vinyl ethylene alcohol (EVOH) layer that works as a barrier against oxygen. High-quality coffee packaging should protect the beans for at least 12 months after the bean is placed in the bag.
Café La Llama urges local communities to recycle their coffee bags in a homemade way for different uses, from garbage bags, films for construction material to storage and agricultural purposes.
In the end, the team was successful in translating the full story behind the company by creating a fun-spirited, charming, and environmentally conscious brand, while using La Llama as the hero protagonist.
"My grandfather Julio Cesar Correa with my grandmother Dolores Córdova produced and commercialized coffee for around 50 years of their life and thanks to the coffee activity and their efforts they managed to have a stable and happy family in the city of Loja."
